Microsoft still controls email

My take on these stats:

Microsoft	55.81%
Yahoo	15.65%
Apple	14.10%
Google	5.51%Total 91.07%

The big 4 control 91% of all email experience. Wow that’s powerful.

Also, did you know that over 36% of all email is read in a browser - ie, webmail such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, GMail, etc)?

But the thing that amazed me the most, is that Google / GMail only has 5.5% market share. Yet whoever I talk to almost daily, tells me about their personal love-affair with GMail or Google Apps. So, it seems the sneezers and early adopters are vocal, but in a minority and it will take some time to loosen the strangle-old MS has on mail.
